Our first visitor, visual artist Camilla Vuorenmaa arrived in Jurva after Midsummer 2015. Camilla paints her work on a pine board before she modifies the surface of the painting by carving giving it a three-dimensional texture. In Jurva Camilla got to deepen her woodcarving skills with YOSK’s woodcarving expert and sculptor Kaj Lindgård.

At Jurva Residence we provide you with working space, accommodation and a possibility to hire an assistant to help you with materials and machinery. Jurva’s peaceful, rural environment is ideal for short-term, intensive work. The working period can vary from one week to several months.

We are launching the residence programme during this spring and summer by inviting designers, artists and craftsmen to Jurva.
